On Saturday, Percy and Annabeth go shopping for vegetables. There is a farmer's market near Camp Half-Blood. "Let's buy organic vegetables," says Annabeth. "Organic food doesn't have pesticides." Percy looks at the prices. "Organic carrots are expensive," he says. "The normal carrots are much cheaper." Annabeth explains that organic vegetables are better for the environment. "Farmers don't use pesticides on organic vegetables," she says. Percy isn't sure. "Does organic food really taste different?" he asks. Grover joins them. As a satyr, he loves nature. "Local and organic vegetables are the best," he says. "They are fresh and healthy." Percy still thinks about the price. "Not everyone can afford organic food," he says. "That's true," says Annabeth. "But it's still good for the environment." They decide to buy some organic vegetables and some normal ones. "We shouldn't waste food anyway," says Grover. "That's the most important thing." In the end, they buy fresh tomatoes, onions, and carrots — some organic, some not. "Does it really matter?" asks Percy. "A little," says Annabeth, "but eating vegetables matters more."

Percy, Annabeth, and Grover go to a new Asian restaurant. The waiter gives them chopsticks instead of forks. "I've never used chopsticks before," says Percy. "It's not so difficult," says Annabeth. "You just need to practice." Percy tries to pick up a spring roll with his chopsticks. The spring roll falls on the table. Everyone laughs. Grover looks at the menu carefully. "Is there peanut sauce in this dish?" he asks the waiter. "I'm allergic to peanuts." The waiter checks and brings him a dish without peanuts. Annabeth orders sushi with soy sauce and wasabi. "Be careful," she tells Percy. "Wasabi is very spicy." Percy doesn't listen. He puts a big piece of wasabi in his mouth. His face turns red. "That's so spicy!" he shouts. He drinks his whole glass of water. Grover laughs and eats his noodles with a fork instead of chopsticks. "I don't want to practice today," he says. Annabeth eats her sushi easily with her chopsticks. "You should try again, Percy," she says. Percy tries once more. This time, he picks up a spring roll without dropping it. "Finally!" he says. "Chopsticks aren't so difficult after all."

At Camp Half-Blood, everyone has chores. Today, it's Percy's and Grover's turn to wash the dishes. "I washed the dishes yesterday," says Percy. "It's not my turn." "Actually, it is your turn," says Annabeth. "I have a list." Percy looks at the sink. It's full of dirty plates. "Can't we use the dishwasher?" he asks. "There is no dishwasher here," says Annabeth. "You have to wash them by hand." Grover washes the plates, and Percy dries them. "This isn't fair," says Percy. "I always have the harder chore." "Washing is harder than drying," says Grover. "That's true," Percy admits. After the dishes are clean, Annabeth remembers something else. "Somebody has to take out the rubbish," she says. "The bin smells terrible." "That's not my chore today," says Grover quickly. Percy sighs. "Fine, I'll take out the rubbish." He picks up the bin and carries it outside. "Don't forget to bring the bin back," Annabeth calls. Percy forgets and leaves the bin outside all night. The next morning, Annabeth is annoyed. "You promised to bring it back!" she says. "Sorry," says Percy. "I promise I won't forget next time."
